Do Not Lose Your Youth

Divya NandaDivya Nanda

When did your passion die?
When did you lose your dreams?
Where did you settle for less, move to the lesser art?
Why have you begun to believe less in yourself?

The moments you promised to make it happen,
The pleasures you aimed to live for ourselves,
The eyes which lit up watching our idols perform,
The blood that used to pump up an ounce more,
The reason to be and not to be,
If today, is washed away among the societal chaos,
Is buried in the knots by the relatives unannounced,
Out of everything that you have done,
If you are losing on your dreams,
You are losing your existence,
You are losing your Youth.

An Artist, A photographer, a Writer, an Athlete
is lost in the taboo of being an Engineering Graduate.
Remember the last time you practiced your true art,
Remember how free you felt creating your magic,
Remember how you swore to pursue your passion,
Now Remember, today.
What did you do today?
Did you do a bit of what your heart desires,
Or
Were you tied up in the routine to please?
Out of everything that you do,
Do not lose on your dreams,
Do not lose your existence,
Do not lose your Youth.

If you have to carry on the day job, Do it must.
Do the routine.
But, Don't sink in this wave that was never yours.
Nobody gets time. You make time.
Practice your art. If not this day, Do it by the night.
Give up that free time of your routine.
Do what you dreamed to do and be.
Little by little, you will grow,
Grow in the space that was booked for you.

Each day, nurture your dream with time, belief and practice.
For, one day, you will live your dream.
You will become everyone's dream.
Don't let your dream pass by. Don't stay occupied by the routine.
Out of everything that you do,
Do not lose on your dreams,
Do not lose your existence,
Do not lose your Youth.
